'Unhappy' Congress might make things difficult for former justice of Calcutta high court, justice (retired) Noore Alam Choudhury, who is contesting the election on a Trinamool ticket from Murarai Assembly seat. But Choudhury is not the strongest candidate for this Assembly seat despite the local Trinamool leadership already projecting him as a minister in the government.

Murarai is a Congress-dominated area though in the last few decades this seat has been won by the CPI(M). This time, the Congress demanded the seat from the alliance. But the Trinamool kept this seat for itself and expectedly the local Congress leadership is unhappy with the name of the nominee, who is from Margram in Birbhum.

A senior Congress leader said, "We wanted seven seats in the district where we have a stronger presence than Trinamool. But Mamata Banerjee and her party have insulted the Congress, by giving us just two seats ignoring our sentiments."
