The CPI(M) on Friday alleged that Information and Broadcasting Minister PR Dasmunshi had assumed 'the role of instigator' at Singur where Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee was on dharna for the last six days.
Expressing displeasure at Dasmunshi's statement on Thursday that the Centre would not 'bail out' the West Bengal government from the Singur crisis, CPI(M) central committee member Shyamal Chakraborty said, "What is the need of a Union minister who can't come to the aid of a state in the time of need?"
"Not only this time, during the turmoil at Nandigram, Dasmunshi was instrumental in opposing sending CRPF to maintain law and order," he said.
"At a time when West Bengal has been turning round industrially, the Trinamool Congress blockade is anti-national and anti-people, hitting poor farmers, traders and the common people."
