Four Maoists were arrested from West Bengal's West Midnapore district on Monday, police said.

"We have arrested four people today (Monday) from Belpahari area of Jhargram," said Jhargram Superintendent of Police Pravin Tripathi.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces raided the Belpahari area and arrested Biswanath, Mukunda, Samay Kisku and Prafulla Ruidar.

Maoists are mainly active in three western districts of the state - Purulia, West Midnapore and Bankura.
