The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha after initially turning down West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's invitation for talks on Tuesday agreed to send a delegation in Kolkota on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister's invitation came following clashes between pro and anti-GJM supporters in Jalpaiguri district in the last few days.
GJM General Secretary Roshan Giri told PTI over phone from Darjeeling that he would lead a seven member team to Kolkata on Wednesday.
He said GJM chief Bimal Gurung had instructed to hold talks directly with the Chief Minister on the situation at Dooars and Terai adjoining Darjeeling district.
Talks would be held on Gorkhaland into which the GJM has demanded inclusion of Dooars and Terai in Jalpaiguri in the plains, he said.
"We will highlight the atrocities being perpetrated by CPI(M)-backed Adivasi Vikas Parishad on our supporters," Giri said.
