The BJP government in Gujarat has allocated funds for developing a Gandhi tourism circuit spread over Porbandar, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Dandi which have been the traditional destinations of Indian and foreign tourists all year round.

"We have allocated adequate funds for the development of the Gandhi tourism circuit in the land of Bapu for better upkeep of the four main places in our state hallowed with his memory," Manager (Marketing) of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat limited, Kingshuk Biswas said while speaking at a Gujarat roadshow 'Khusboo Gujarat ki' here today.

Millions of tourists from home and abroad visit these four places associated with Gandhiji and the state government has decided to preserve and protect these places, he said.

Mahatma Gandhi's great achievements in Gujarat culminated in the protest-march from Ahmedabad to Dandi which is said to have done the maximum damage to the British empire in India.

"A tour of Gujarat from Porbandar to Dandi offers an insight into the life and philosophies of the man the world loves to call the Mahatma," Biswas said.
