Hizbul militants arrested in West Bengal

Three persons, including two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen, have been arrested from Sultanpur village in West Bengal's Howrah district on Saturday.

Three persons, including two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen, were arrested from Sultanpur village in West Bengal's Howrah district on Saturday.

District superintendent of police NK Singh said acting on a tip off, police raided the house of one Sheikh Samsuddin under Jagacha police station in the early hours and arrested Hizbul members Md Raj (25) and Md Zakir (29).

Samsuddin was also arrested and fake passports, visas and forged travel documents were recovered from the three men.

Singh said Raj and Zakir had come to Kolkata from Delhi on June 17, looking for a transit route to Bangladesh.
