Kolkata: female student molested on univ campus

A second year MA student of Rabindra Bharati University, RBU, was molested and beaten up on the campus allegedly by seven students, police sources said.

The seven students who allegedly molested and assaulted the girl on Tuesday night belonged to a rival student union, the sources said.

The victim was reportedly rescued by her friends and a police complaint was filed.

However, RBU vice chancellor, Sabyasachi Basu Rai Chaudhuri, said the girl student did not file a complaint with the university.

"Police officials visited the campus and asked for our cooperation in the investigation. We have assured support," Chaudhuri said.
