Chief minister Mamata Banerjee has fired another salvo at the Centre on price rise, asking if there was any leader who could save the country from the economic nightmare.
This was not the first time Banerjee pilloried the Centre over price rise. It was the very issue over which she had walked out of the UPA II in September 2012.
But her comments on Thursday on the social networking site Facebook piled on the pressure on the Centre, which is already under fire over inflation and the falling rupee.
“From petrol to onions, from diesel to dollar, from fertilizers to day-to-day expenses, prices are skyrocketing. The economic security of the common people is at stake,” Banerjee wrote on Facebook.
Wondering if the inflation was the result of the “so-called reforms and activities” pushed by Centre in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections, she declared, “The country cannot be run like this”.
