He may be a rebel, but arrested Maoist top gun Deepak has a religious side too.

During his interrogation by Andhra Pradesh Police's elite anti-naxal force Greyhound here, investigators discovered that he was a devotee of Balaji or Lord Venkateswara.

Deepak, who was arrested in Kolkata on Tuesday, touched his right ear with his right hand when a force member mentioned the name of the lord, police sources revealed. The gesture, which is a sign of a Balaji follower, surprised the investigators. But Deepak did not try to hide his faith, they said.
