Against the backdrop of West Bengal demanding a three-year moratorium on interest payments, home minister P Chidambaram on Thursday expressed hope that the Centre and state would find a way to solve the problem.
“I am sure that the wise person the Prime Minister is and the practical person the chief minister is, they will sit together and find out a solution to the financial crisis,” he said.
“We understand the finances of West Bengal are stressed. West Bengal has gone through a transition. There is a new government. We will continue to support it.”
