Eminent nuclear scientist Bikash Sinha today dispelled fears of any impact on India from radiation following explosions in the Fukushiama nuclear power plant in Tsunami-hit Japan.

"I am in touch with the Nuclear Power Corporation and is convinced that the situation is not at all alarming for India which is far, far away from Japan," Sinha said.

He dismissed all speculation of the radiation hazard as 'absolutely baseless'. Sinha said his information was that the second explosion rocked the plant at 3 PM on Sunday.
