The police have sent a report to the Election Commission (EC) against the officer-in-charge and a sub-inspector of Shyampukur, the electoral constituency of Trinamool nominee Shashi Panja, for tampering a registered FIR about an assault on Trinamool supporters by CPI(M) cadres.

Putul Roy, the wife of one of the local Trinamool supporters, filed a complaint accusing CPI(M) cadres of assault near Shyambazar.
