The Election Commission has asked Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee to be "more careful" while using a beacon on his car. The CPI(M) had lodged a complaint against Banerjee in April for using a beacon in a campaign tour in Burdwan. Later, the poll panel had served the MP a showcause notice to which he replied.

Black money
The income tax directorate has reportedly given the Trinamool a clean chit in the issue of using black money during the election campaign, a senior EC official said. CEO Sunil Gupta said, "The IT directorate has sent their report to us. We would be forwarding it to the Election Commission's office in New Delhi."

EVM hacking
The police have made a preliminary breakthrough in the EVM hacking case. A CPI(M) leader in Bankura had received an SMS and an anonymous mail in which the sender claimed he could hack EVMs.

The EC had asked the police to investigate. CEO Sunil Gupta said on Saturday, "One person has been arrested so far and investigation is on."
