The Ram Mandir would be built in Ayodhya when Hindus and Muslims declare that they wanted it to be constructed there, senior BJP leader LK Advani said today.

"The temple will be built one day when Hindus and Muslims say that they want Ram mandir in Ayodhya," the BJP's prime ministerial candidate told an election meeting in Kolkata.

"If we have our own government, it is one thing. But if it is a coalition government, it is different. I want people to understand this," Advani said.

"I want a Ram mandir in Ayodhya. I had a launched movement for it. There is a mandir now. Shout Jai Shree Ram when a magnificent temple is constructed there," he said as the crowd repeatedly chanted 'Jai Shri Ram'.
