Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who is on a two-day visit to West Bengal, met Congress leaders on Sunday evening.

On Monday, he is scheduled to share stage with the chief minister Mamata Banerjee in the Sundarbans.

He is likely to talk to the CM about the deteriorating law and order situation in Bengal.

“I will talk to the chief minister in this regard,” said Shinde, avoiding any harsh comment on the issue, despite state Congress leaders submitting a memorandum in this regard.
