The Criminal Investigating Department (CID) on Friday nabbed Prasanta Ghosh from a hotel in Puri. Like Sushanta Ghosh, Prasanta was also named in the charge sheet of the Benachapra skeleton case. While Sushanta was arrested earlier and is out on bail, brother Prasanta was absconding.

"Our sources told us that Prasanta was hiding in a hotel in Puri. Odisha state police was informed and they arrested him. A team of CID is bound for Puri to get Prasanta back. He would be produced in the Midnapore court where the case is ongoing," an official said.

Trinamool Congress claimed that the skeletons recovered were those of its supporters killed in 2002 at Piashala in Keshpur. Later CID took charge of the investigation and several CPI(M) leaders' names emerged in connection.

CPI(M) strongman and member of legislative assembly (MLA) from Garbeta, Sushanta Ghosh was arrested. Later, the Calcutta high court granted him conditional bail. The case is running at the Midnapore district court. More than 40 of the accused are absconding. Among them are Tarun Roy, a district secretariat member and Kishan Sabha member and Intaj Ali, a CPI(M) leader from Keshpur.
