Two Trinamool Congress supporters were shot on Saturday at and injured and their houses attacked allegedly by CPI(M) cadre at a village in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, a Trinamool leader claimed.
A group of CPI(M) cadre raided Charabidya village and allegedly fired on the two Trinamool Congress supporters, Rashid Molla and Aftabuddin Naia injuring them, Trinamool leader Jayanta Naskar, who is in-charge of Basanti and Gosaba areas in the district, claimed.
He also alleged that a Trinamool Congress supporter was missing.
About 50 houses and shops of those who had attended Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee's meeting at Jibantala on October 8 were ransacked and looted, he further alleged.
The police did not confirm the firing or injuries, but said some houses were attacked.
Irrigation Minister and RSP leader Subhas Naskar, who is the local MLA, said he had asked the police to look into the incident.
CPI(M) district secretary Sujan Chakraborty said he was not aware of the incident, but would inquire.
A large contingent of police, led by an additional superintendent of police, was at the village, police sources said.
