The Trinamool Congress, which has been boycotting functions attended by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, announced on Wednesday 'non-cooperation' with the West Bengal government at 'all levels' to protest killing of party supporters.
"Till such time the government stops killings and bloodshed, we will not cooperate with the government at all levels, party Secretary-General Partha Chatterjee and Sudip Bandyopadhaya MP told a press conference here.
"Our party leaders and workers will not attend any meeting convened by the government, including at the block and district levels," they said.
Stating that the party would not respond to invitations by the government to discussions, Bandhopadhaya said, "we also will not submit memorandum to government authorities concerned on any issue."
Alleging that the Left Front government had failed to provide safety and security to political opponents, Chatterjee said, a delegation of the party MPs and MLAs will meet Governor M K Narayanan tomorrow to take up the matter.
"Law and order situation in Bengal is grave," he said.
