Trinamool Congress workers have been asked to restrain victory celebrations till party supremo Mamata Banerjee takes oath as West Bengal chief minister.
"We have decided to bring out our first official victory rally only after Mamata is sworn in," party general secretary Madan Mitra said.
Party workers throughout the state have been asked to avoid any confrontations with the CPI(M), he said.
"We are keeping a close watch. We apprehend that the CPI(M) might provoke a confrontation and incite violence. All party leaders at the district level have been asked to stay alert and monitor the victory celebrations," Mitra who won from Kamarhati constituency, said.
"I am getting calls why we are so silent after winning. But this is a part of party discipline," he said.
