Two killed, two injured as man opens fire

A history sheeter allegedly opened fire after an altercation in West Bengal's Howrah district.

Two persons were killed and two others injured, including a policeman, when a history sheeter allegedly opened fire after an altercation in West Bengal's Howrah district.

Dilip Singh, who have a number of police cases against him, had gone to a bar cum restaurant at Alampur area late last night and had an altercation with the employees there, Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Singh told PTI on Tuesday.

He opened fire from his revolver killing one person on the spot.

Hearing the gun shots, a police patrol rushed to the spot and gave a chase to Dilip. While fleeing, Dilip fired at the police party. A passerby was killed on the spot and a policeman was injured in the firing, Singh said.

The police then fired at him injuring Dilip. He has been arrested, the SP said.
