Two still missing in Dum Dum rape

The 14-year-old victim was taken to the jail to identify the two accused. The report on the test ID parade has been prepared

East Bengal Football Club player Jagpreet Singh and his domestic help Ravi Singh, were arrested on charges of raping a 14-year old girl on Tuesday night, had to undergo a test identification (TI) parade on Thursday.

The 14-year old victim was taken to the jail to identify the two arrested on charges of rape. According to sources, the report on the TI parade has been prepared and sent to the investigating officer (IO).

Meanwhile, police sent various teams to various places in search of the two others accused in the rape case. The two still absconding are Baldeep Singh and Joseph Singh. Sources said police officers even traveled outside west Bengal in search of the absconders. Jagpreet Singh, his domestic help Ravi Singh, Baldeep Singh and Joseph Singh allegedly raped the minor in turns for four hours on Monday, October 29.

The incident took place at flat number 3B of Diamond City North residential complex located near Nagerbazar, under the jurisdiction of the Dum Dum police station. The girl’s father Jitendra Singh lodged a complaint at Dum Dum police station on Tuesday after which cops arrested Jagpreet and Ravi the same night.

They were produced at Barrackpore Court on Wednesday and were remanded in 14 days of judicial custody.
