A woman lawyer has accused two Kareya police station officers, who were earlier named accused in the Aminul Islam death case, of molesting her.

According to the woman lawyer, police officers Vinod Kumar and Papinder Singh, along with a real estate businessman, were pressuring her to sell off her residential home in Ultadanga. When she refused, they started harassing her.

Initially Baguihati police station had registered only a general diary against the two officers. However, later, with the intervention of an assistant commissioner of Bidhan Nagar commisionerate, the Baguihati police station started a case.

The two officers were granted anticipatory bail by a Barasat court on Tuesday.

Islam, 36, had immolated himself outside a police station in south Kolkata on December 3 last year, in protest after police officials failed to register a rape case against a local goon. He succumbed to his burns on January 1, 2013.
