It’s that time of the year when everyone wishes they had a new wardrobe for each day of the week. For this packed festive season which is coinciding with a flurry of weddings, we pick up five hot trends from master couturist and Bollywood’s favourite designer, Manish Malhotra, who officially launched his stand-alone store yesterday in the Capital.
“I have been retailing in Delhi for the past three years through a multitude of stores and the response has been very positive. I got so much love and appreciation from the city, that’s why I wanted to have a flagship store in Mehrauli. A vintage haveli is where I have set it up which will be a hub for all my collections,” says Manish.
Taking a cue from his designs, we pick all things vintage — colonial style influence that’s big on old-world charm is one of the biggest trends for the season, along with rich hues like bold plums and an open affair with lace.

Nothing spells romance more than a delicate play of elegant lace and sheer fabric.
For men, classic bandhgalas still remain on the top of style charts. A basic black bandhgala jacket with a touch of red is fit for festive season.
Hues of royalty
It’s time to ditch predictable reds. Shades of midnight and navy blue, deep rich velvety plums and hues of burgundy are infused with a flavour of regality for any celebration.
