Any fashion lover worth her chic phone cover knows that owning a smartphone amounts to nothing if it doesn’t help her stay abreast of the latest fashion news or find sartorial inspiration. So we scoured the app stores to bring you a round-up of the best fashion apps to get hold of this summer. Get downloading.

Instagram
If you don’t know what Instagram is, then you must have just emerged from under a rock. This image-sharing app allows users to virtually be in the same room with fashion’s coolest darlings — be it British model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne or Bollywood style icon Sonam Kapoor.

Style.com
If you are someone who prefers to stay updated on all things fashion, right from Prada’s latest collection to what Lupita Nyong’o wore on the red carpet, then this app brings all this information and lots more to your fingertips.

ASOS
The day ASOS started shipping to India was a landmark event for Indian fashionistas. And this online shopping mecca’s smartphone tool is a boon, especially if you’re stuck in Mumbai traffic and don’t know what to do with your time. Its Daily Edit feature, which presents a selection of highlights from the site, promises easy navigation too.

Say hello to the Shazam of fashion. Love the bag the lady across the room is carrying? Or lusting over the ballerinas the woman at the next table is wearing? Simply click a (sneaky) picture and upload it on this app to find out where’s it from, in addition to other similar options.

Chic Feed
Street style is the latest fashion buzzword. But if you are pressed for time to browse through all the top blogs individually, simply turn to Chic Feed. It compiles the best street-style clicks from top sites like The Sartorialist, Jak and Jil, Cherry Blossom Girl, Face Hunter and more.

Cloth
Cloth is a virtual wardrobe app that allows you to keep track of your closet in an efficient manner. Store pictures of possible outfit combinations under broad categories, and simply open the app when you need some inspiration. The only downside is that you’ll never have a reason to say, "I don’t have anything to wear," again!

Pose
If you are shopping alone and find yourself in need of a second opinion (anyone but that pushy salesgirl), then Pose will come to your rescue. Upload a picture of your outfit and let this stylish community provide you some fashion SOS. It’s a lifesaver for the indecisive shopper.

Speak Chic
Do you think Maison Martin Margiela is a tongue twister? Or do you always fumble with notorious brand names like Comme des Garçons and Proenza Schouler? Then this one is for you. With its A-Z list of recorded pronunciations of designer names and popular fashion lingo, this app will help you to speak chic, quite literally.
