Already a popular initiative in 16 countries, Fashion’s Night Out isn’t new to India (there have been a few editions that took place in Delhi earlier). Now, the shopping extravaganza is coming to Mumbai for the first time. On September 6, a mall located in the High Street Phoenix Mills compound
in Lower Parel, will host the event from 6 pm till midnight. Several stores at the mall will participate by offering discounts and exclusive merchandise. This year, the special stalls include those set up by brands, like Le 15 Patisserie and Bhane, and designers Manish Arora, Ruchika Sachdeva, Gaurav Gupta and Anita Dongre.
Souvenir T-shirts, specially designed by Monisha Jaising and Sabyasachi Mukherjee will also be on sale. A cosmetic pouch has also been designed by Play Clan for the day. Proceeds from the sales of these items will go to charity. “I’m glad to be associated with the event because it’s all about the spirit of giving as the proceeds will go to charity. There’s also a fun side to the event, where we provide our clients with engaging experiences,” says Dongre, whose store, Global Desi, at the mall will offer deals on limited edition sling bags. Customers will even get a chance to design their own accessories and take pictures at a photo booth.
Another participating brand, Swarovski, will set up a styling booth at the store, with blogger Santu Misra, offering attendees advice on what jewellery would best highlight their features. Customers will be introduced to the brand’s new range and even given free scarves with every purchase.
