Gajar ka halwa (carrot pudding), becomes the most popular dessert in the city during winters. It makes its presence as not only big shops, but even vendors on streets can be seen selling huge mounds caramelised carrot cooked with condensed milk and garnished with dry fruits that the halwa can barely be seen.  We get you some places where you can buy and enjoy this winter delight.

Meghraj & Sons
The halwa served here is too sweet and after two spoons you might crave for something salty. A good place if you plan to gift a box of gajar ka halwa to someone as they also keep special metal boxes with beautiful patterns, for which you will have to pay an extra charge.

Haryana Paneer Bhandar
This is one of the cheaper options for buying gajar ka halwa. The halwa is kept in a big vessel on a fire and a man just stands there to keep stirring it. As a result you get freshly cooked and piping hot halwa whenever you order it. The halwa sold here is not as rich as the ones you get otherwise in sweet shops, and as a result the taste of carrots remain intact.

The halwa served here is loaded with khoya (condensed milk) and dry fruits. So much so, that you can barely taste the carrot. It is also high on elaichi. Make sure you ask them to re-heat it before serving.
