For this week’s Get Healthy, Delhi face-offs, we got two unexpected volunteers — Manish Mehrotra, executive chef, Indian Accent, and Diwas Wadhera, executive chef , Mosaic Hotel.
The two chefs who live a frenzied life, working round the clock to serve their guests the dishes of their dreams, say they are super motivated to get fit with our campaign. And to shed a few kilos, and feel and look better, they have pledged to turn their eyes away from all the gorgeous food they are surrounded with all the time, take time out to exercise every day, and eat on time. We wish them luck, and loads of good health!
Chef Diwas Wadhera
We know him as a successful chef who has manned the kitchen of top hotels in the country. Yet, Diwas Wadhera says his career suffered because of being overweight. “I was always the ‘fat kid’. At several stages in my life, people made it clear to me that I am different from others...it was quite hurtful,” says the chef who was rejected by a leading hotel group for being fat.
“Being fit would have saved me several years in my career struggle,” he says. Now, having proven himself professionally, he wants to lose weight for his own self. “I want to look good, and feel great. I’ll give my best to this campaign,” he says.

Chef Manish Mehrotra
Odd meal times and binging are slowly taking a toll on my health. Won't let mutton tikkas and biryanis tempt me anymore. I am super motivated to get in shape.
Chef Manish Mehrotra, who is known for his path-breaking healthy inventions in Indian cuisine, didn’t bother about weight loss, until his close friends warned him. “Crazy working hours, skipping breakfast almost everyday, super late lunches and midnight dinners have started taking a toll on my health. What better way to get fit than with your campaign,” he says. The chef is all set to introduce changes in his routine for the sake of a healthy life. So, no more endless cups of coffee for him, no more gorging on junk, and the chef is even motivating himself to workout every day, despite a crazy work life.
