Getting ready for your first date can be a quagmire. Dress casually and he/she may not take you seriously. Dress formal and you may scare your date away. Attitude and conversation are also an important part of making sure that you get that phone call after the date's over. Here are a few tips to make the right impact when you meet for the first time.
Avoid a new dress: Yes, you just bought it and are keen to wear it, but you definitely haven't ironed it out. Maybe your new skirt flies up when you walk or your new shoes give you blisters. All of these problems aren't ones you want to face while you're trying to impress someone new.
Wear your attitude: Ditch a head scarf for the day. It requires way too much readjusting and will most likely make your date wonder whether you have a headache or something. A band T-shirt of a band you don't listen to is another no-no. It will most likely result in some pretty awkward conversation.
Be yourself: If you're a girl who normally wears lip balm and mascara, a full face of make-up on the first date is misleading. If date one leads to date two and three, you're not going to continue to apply make-up all the time.
Avoid too much texting before the date: First dates are all about knowing each other. Giving away too much will take away the surprise and may also tip the expectations too high.
