The woman suing Sir Paul McCartney for allegedly manipulating the results of a paternity test has been forced to drop her lawsuit.
46-year old Bettina Hubers claimed that the singer had embarked on an affair with her mother Erica while the Beatles were performing in Hamburg, Germany, back in the early 1960s.
However, Macca denied being Hubers’ father, and claimed to have taken a paternity test to prove so in 1983.
Huber recently brought a lawsuit against Macca alleging that he had “faked” the test by sending in a body double to give a DNA sample, reports Contactmusic.
Much to her dismay, it was announced by the prosecution on May 24, that any examination of the documents from the paternity test 24 years ago would not proceed as it had passed the statute.
In a statement, the prosecution said: "(The) alleged offence - even if it had taken place - would be statute-barred today. The unenforceability of the statute of limitations is opposed to further investigations."
