Halloween season has arrived at theme parks - zombies, vampires and the walking dead are showing up at parks all around the world. Here is a selection of Halloween activities for children but also adults wanting a scare.

Halloween Horror Nights by Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, has topped the lists of best Halloween attractions, for many years. Amusement Park magazine gave the 2011 event a Golden Ticket Award for the best Halloween event. The theme this year is the Walking Dead, based on the post-apocalyptic television drama. Visitors will be caught in the middle of a high-intensity struggle for survival, fighting their way among hordes of flesh-hungry, growling zombies. Halloween Horror nights are taking place on selected nights between September 21 and October 31.
Hong Kong's Disneyland is preparing a "Graves Academy" where participants are to be invited to into a once-prestigious school to be taught a terrifying curriculum. Another event is the Glow in the Dark Parade featuring Jack Skellington and his Pumpkin Men. This year, the park is launching the Choose your dark side app, where two forces of evil fight to become the leader of darkness. Halloween events are taking place from October 4 to 31.
A lot more child-friendly, Billund Legoland in Denmark is organizing a series of Halloween activities between October 13 and 21, (the week which coincides with the country's fall vacation period). Among these, Find the missing Erna Spider, the LEGO Spider Building Competition and the haunted spider castle. Participants are asked to dress up and wander through the decorated park.
In the UK, Halloween fans can attend the Fright Nights at Thorpe Park, introducing its new maze. When entering the park, visitors will be sentenced to serve time in the Thorpe Park Penitentiary, accompanied by society's most dangerous and deranged criminals. From October 12 to November 4, on selected nights.
Visitors to Ocean Park's Halloween Bash in Hong Kong will be attending the Chinese Wedding of the Departed. Visitors will be invited into a ruined mansion, after a terrible fire killed a large family some time ago leaving the patriarch and the ghost of his son. The matchmaker from the underworld is ready to turn visitors into a bride or groom for her ghostly children. The event is running from September 12 until October 31 on selected nights.
As part of its many Halloween attractions, Europa Park's Horror Nights in Germany is presenting the Take Away maze, a fast food restaurant where visitors will be sent to a behind-the-scenes tour of the disgusting kitchen to see how a cleaver-wielding cook prepares caged cats as the main course. From September 29 until November 4.
Finally, as part of its Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood is presenting La Llorona maze, based on the Mexican lengend of the Child Hunter. La Llorona maze is haunted by the weeping woman and the wandering children she snatches at night. Beware of the sticky pig carcasses while you watch a child being eaten alive by La Llorona. Other mazes include the Walking Dead, Silent Hill and Alice Cooper. On selected nights through October 31.
