After my immunity took a hit, I reluctantly undertook a journey to thrill-seekers’ paradise, New Zealand.

I’d made up my mind to retreat to some quiet corner. However, after a 21-hour-long flight from Mumbai to Auckland via Singapore, I realised that my inactiveness had faded away and I was ready for a different kind of challenge.

New Zealand is an awe-inspiring place — everything is postcard perfect and soothes the mind, body and soul.

Be it the vast lakes, scenic landscapes, rugged mountains or mind-blowing adventure activities, the country has something to draw everyone, no matter what or where your interests lies.

So if you travel to New Zealand, make sure you carry not just your camera and multiple memory cards, but also your enthusiasm to participate in all kinds of adventure.

What I particularly admired about the country is the people’s attitude towards life.

They really work towards living a good life. Physical activities, outdoor adventure, healthy food and a relatively stress-free space are what they constantly seek.

This might also explain why they celebrate old age too. Understanding and admiring sundown years have been a long tradition in this country.

From the driver to the porter and from the the bike riders to the guitarist at the nightclub singing to an audience comprising trendy senior citizens, New Zealanders never hesitate to show their appreciation to the elderly.

The country is also a great place to unwind with anyone who can connect over wine tastings and great food. While I can’t wait to go back, here are some you-just-can’t-miss-out adventures.
