A new smart cup that detects what you are drinking and displays its nutritional information in real-time is taking connected personal accessories to the next level.
Created by the lead designer at Fuseproject Yves Behar for Mark One, ‘Vessyl’ (photo below) comes with an app that aggregates everything you drink and allows you to set and track health priorities, from losing weight to building muscle or simply keeping hydrated.
The sleek cup features a faceted exterior, on which a screen is activated upon tilting the vessel to display consumption details.
Nutritional contents such as calories, sugar, protein and fat are all detected by the cup. The battery-operated cup can be recharged wirelessly and also features a spill-proof lid and non-stick interior.
Vessyl syncs with popular fitness tracker apps and uses ‘Pryme’ to monitor users’ individual hydration levels. “As you use the vessel, it’s going to learn more about you and your consumption patterns,” says Mark Berman, vice president of Health at Mark One.
He adds, “But the main goal is to actually help you make healthier and more informed decisions in real-time.” The cup can be pre-ordered for $99.
