He added, “Women’s safety is important. The BJP government has neglected our mothers and sisters. They should have used their power to safeguard our women. We gave 11% reservation for women and they entered into armed forces during our time.”

“I am here to give a chance to the sons of the soil. This is why we have chosed Babaji Patil for Kalyan, who can represent all the sons of soil in the Lok Sabha,” he added.

“During our time, new factories were established in Ambernath and Thane. In the past five years, no new factories have come up. The BJP government is not capable of using the ability of our youth, then how are they going to give justice to our farmers, “ he added.

Meanwhile, at a rally in Thane, Pawar said that people who have never entered the election ring should not allege that he [Pawar] had run away before fighting from Madha.

It was a jibe back at Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who had claimed in a rally that Pawar had developed cold feet and thus opted out of contesting from Madha constituency.
