The registration process for admission to post graduate courses in the Lucknow University is set to begin from Monday and will remain open till July 10. This will be followed by submission of fees from June 25 to July 12 and submission of forms between June 26 and July 14.
Notably, the forms for 5,825 post graduate seats spread over 127 courses, will cost Rs 800 for candidates of general and Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates and Rs 400 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. While the faculty of Arts has 4,221 PG seats, the faculties of Commerce and Law have 320 and 470 seats respectively. The faculty of Science has 814 seats.
All candidates must complete the entire application filling process- registration, depositing of application fees and final form submission- within six days of registration, failing which their application fees. The university has made arrangements for depositing fees through credit card, debit card, bank challan or SBI internet banking.
The counseling date for PG admissions will be announced later in consultation with NIC. Reservation as per government policy mandates for 21% reservation for Scheduled Caste, 2% for Scheduled Tribes and 27% for Other Backward Class.
In addition to this reservation, wards of LU teachers and non teaching staff will enjoy 10% weightage, degree college teaching and non teaching staff will get 5% weightage, physically challenged and visually impaired 3%, freedom fighters’ ward 2% and defence personnel to get 5% . N Khare, LU admission coordinator said efforts would be made to ensure the entire admission process runs smoothly.
