In Chitrakoot to distribute laptops to Class 12 passouts, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday attacked the previous BSP-led regime for squandering public funds on construction of parks and memorials.
He added his government was making sincere efforts to provide employment to the youth of Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the laptop distribution programme, the CM said generation of more employment avenues would help in alleviating poverty in the state.
As many as 4485 students received the free laptops. The CM also dedicated eight schemes worth Rs 32.62 crore to the people besides laying foundation stone of seven other projects worth Rs 32.35 crore.
Akhilesh said the state was facing severe financial crisis when the Samajwadi Party-led government came to power last year. He said his government would ensure that benefits of the government schemes reached the people. “In the next one year, my government would implement all promises made by the SP before the 2012 polls,” he said.
