Uttar Pradesh BJP demanded the dismissal of state minister Ratan Lal Ahirwar alleging that he along with his son has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by a Madhya Pradesh court for possessing illegal firearms.
"Ahirwar and his son have been sentenced to one year jail by a Madhya Pradesh court which has found them guilty of keeping illegal firearms and he should be dismissed from the ministry without delay", state BJP president Surya Pratap Shahi.
Alleging that the ruling BSP in UP was shielding mafias and criminals, Shahi claimed that two cases against Ahirwar were pending in the CJM court of Jhansi. Reacting to the recent move by the BSP president and Chief Minister Mayawati to expel criminal elements from her party, Shahi asked the government to define criminals.
Citing the recent Allahabad High Court order for a CBI inquiry into rape of two minor girls at a police station in Kushinagar and kidnapping and murder of a scribe in Ramkola area of the same district, Shahi alleged that criminals and mafias were enjoying open patronage and law and order was was at its worst.
