BJP workers on Thursday clashed with police as they were prevented from moving towards the state assembly complex during a rally organised by the party against price rise, leaving many injured.
Protesters tried to march towards the assembly during the "maharally" and when police prevented them they indulged in brick-bating.
Police used water cannons and tear gas shells to disperse agitators. The rally was addressed by party's senior leaders like Rajnath Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Vinay Katriyar and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
Several people, including policemen, were injured.
