Uttar Pradesh unit of BJP will launch a three-day agitation from July 1 to protest against the price rise of petro-products.

"After successful state-wide protests held on June 26 against the Congress on price rise issue, we will be staging three-day demonstration and burn effigies of Congress leaders from July 1 at all district headquarters", BJP state President Surya Pratap Shahi said in Lucknow on Monday.

The party would force Congress-led UPA government to roll back prices of petro-products and will continue its protest till our demand is met, he said.

On June 26, BJP took to streets in the state to protest the hike in prices of petroleum products prompting police to use water canons to disperse the protesters.
