Chief Minister Mayawati on Monday announced to organise a national rally of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Lucknow on March 15.
Addressing journalists in Lucknow on Monday Mayawati said the rally being organized on the occasion of birth anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram was aimed at reaching out to the people to apprise them of the programmes and policies of the party.
Mayawati said the rally was to coincide with silver jubilee of the foundation of BSP on April 14, 2009 but it could not be held because of Lok Sabha elections. The BSP, which was founded on April 14, 1984, completed 25 years last year.
The Chief Minister said the workers from all over the country would participate in the rally. Mayawati has appealed to party men to work for the success of the rally. A meeting of senior BSP leaders would be held here tomorrow to chalk out action plan. Mayawati said the rally would also expose the anti-dalit policies of the Congress, which had done nothing during the last 62 years for the welfare of poor people.
Referring to Pune explosion on February 13, the Chief Minister said strict instructions had been issued to all districts to keep vigil. She said the additional director general (law and order) Brijlal, who visited Kanpur on February 14, has already reviewed the situation.
Condemning the Pune terror attack the Chief Minister said the Congress-led UPA government should take action for the permanent solution to the terrorists menace in the country. Mayawati said following information from the center security arrangements had been tightened in Kanpur.
