The district administration is going to launch a massive drive next week to resolve traffic snarls, encroachment problems and filthy roads. The four areas where the drive would be launched initially include Kaiserbagh, Charbagh, Hazratganj and Chowk.

“It was only after many long meetings, we zeroed in on the four places to begin with. Since, almost the entire city is grappling with more or less the same problems, we decided to start with these four first,” said Kaushal Raj Sharma, district magistrate Lucknow.

As per the plan, the entire city would be divided into 10 sectors. Besides, special teams have been constituted that would include ACMs’, CO, Zonal Officers of Nagar Nigam, executive engineer from LDA, engineer from PWD and other senior officers.

Of the four grave issues, removing encroachments would be the foremost priority and then issues like cleanliness and traffic of that particular area would be sorted out. “Officials would be deputed sector wise and would be asked to take care of their own respective sectors. And this will surely being change in the areas,” said Sharma.

Sharma said, the officials would be held accountable, if any irregularities are found in their respective sectors. Besides, he said the administration is also working to bring advanced public grievances system in place. He said the departments are in the process to start a facebook page and a whatsapp account where people can report or post issues that concerns them the most. People can share images, their problems along with its solution.

The district administration is also roping in agencies, traders and local associations to make this drive a success.
