The state government has selected Feedback Infrastructure and Services Private Limited as the consultant for the proposed 20-km-long northern peripheral road in Ghaziabad. The four-lane road (extendable to six lanes) is expected to provide smooth connectivity between New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The decision to select the New Delhi-based company was taken at a meeting of the bid evaluation committee chaired by infrastructure and industrial development commissioner (IIDC) Anil Kumar Gupta on Wednesday. Overall, five bids were received for the green field access controlled road project that the state government proposes to develop under the public private partnership model. Other bidders included RITES Limited, Gurgaon, Holtech Consulting Private Limited, Gurgaon, Casta Engineers and Consultants Private Limited, New Delhi and Uniborn India Private Limited, Gurgaon. The selected consultant, Feedback Infrastructure and Services Private Limited, New Delhi, will be required to carry out the project study, technical feasibility study, financial viability study and the entire bid process management etc.

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has been nominated as the nodal agency for the implementation of this project with an estimated cost of R440 crore. Gupta said the new road would provide the much-needed infrastructure to the industry in the area.

Vice-chairman of GDA Santosh Yadav said the northern peripheral road would start from Saharanpur Road (State Highway 57) in Loni area and terminate at Dasna (NH-58) bisecting the NH-58 – the Meerut Road.
