Criminal wanted for 15 years surrenders

Tribhuwan Singh, a notorious criminal who carried a reward of Rs 500,000 and was wanted for the last 15 years by the Uttar Pradesh police surrendered in Lucknow on Wednesday. He was wanted in nearly 20 criminal cases of murder, contract killing, loot and dacoity.

A notorious criminal wanted for the last 15 years by the Uttar Pradesh police surrendered in Lucknow on Wednesday, an official said.

"Tribhuwan Singh, who carried a reward of Rs 500,000 surrendered on Wednesday afternoon at the Special Task Force (STF) office in Mahanagar," STF Senior Superintendent of Police Amitabh Yash told reporters.

"Singh, a native of Ghazipur district in the state was wanted in nearly 20 criminal cases of murder, contract killing, loot and dacoity," Yash added.

According to officials, apart from Uttar Pradesh, Singh used to operate from Nepal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Asked if he had any political ambitions, Singh said, "I have no plans for contesting the elections."
