The year 2012 began with parks-n-politics. But, as the city moves into 2013, it hopes for better technology, upgraded health services and quality infrastructure along with academic excellence.
There is talk of improvement in every sphere. Bringing major traffic zones and crossings under the close circuit cam vigil, expansion of jurisdiction of Women Powerline (1090) to cover physical and cyber stalking too are on the tip of every tongue.
The big things for the city would no longer have to wait for long. On the very first day of the new year , the city will have a hi-tech parking at Jhandi Park, which will latter be followed by three new railway over bridges (RoBs). The first shall come up at Purania. This four-lane 730-metre-long over bridge is expected to ease traffic problem from Aliganj to Sitapur road. A flyover joining Nirala Nagar with Daliganj will be a great relief for those moving towards Sitapur road.
On the health front the city shall see a new international standard cancer hospital. India’s premier medical institute KGMU will add at least 180 new faculty members to provide better services to patients. The much-awaited Centenary Hospital will have a full-fledged start.
A private super-specialty hospital is likely to come up in the city with an assurance of quality medicare.
There is something for fun lovers and shopaholics too.
Lucknow may experience the essence of all cultures at the much-awaited Lucknow Haat which is expected to take a final shape in the new year.
Hopes are it will be thrown open in early half of the 2013. The haat will have special treat for people with handicrafts and culinary delights. The cultural extravaganza, Lucknow Mahotsav too will be shifted to a better venue with added facilities.
