A drug addict killed an 11-month-old son of a domestic help by hurling him on to the floor in Chowk on Wednesday morning. The man committed the crime in a fit of rage after the boy’s mother refused to allow him to take the child along for an outing. The accused fled the spot after the incident.
The infant’s mother, Vijay Lakshmi, lodged an FIR with the Chowk police station in this connection. The man was identified as Piyush Shukla, who stays in the neighbourhood of Lakshmi. Police said Piyush was a drug addict and he apparently committed the crime in a state of intoxication.
According to reports, the incident took place when the boy’s mother was busy working in the kitchen while her four kids, including the 11-months-old twins Raj and Aryan were in the verandah outside the house. The accused entered the house and took Raj along with him to his house and hurled him on to the floor many times.
The baby suffered serious injuries and died on the spot. The accused, however, even took the child to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. He then disappeared from the spot leaving the boy’s body outside his house.
Police said the accused was upset with the boy’s mother after she refused to allow him to take the child to his house and insulted him. So far, the probe suggested that the accused attacked the child to settle scores with his mother.
