The Lucknow cops also got in touch with Sitapur police chief Kavindra Pratap Singh, who sent a police team led by AH Zaidi, Manpur police station officer, to Lucknow for investigation.

“We are investigating the case. Soon, a DNA test of the body parts will be carried out,” said Zaidi.

But Akhilesh Kumar Chaurasia, district police chief of Lakhimpur Kheri, told HT over phone: “Parents of the missing sisters went to Sitapur and, after looking at the heads, denied that they were of their daughters.”
