Senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur on Sunday said he would file a petition in the Allahabad High Court for a CBI probe into the alleged threat to him by Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. He said he would also urge the court to direct the premier agency to probe into the FIR lodged by a woman alleging he raped her.
Thakur feared that he might be killed, arrested and lodged in jail in fake case. Since I have lodged complaint against SP chief the state government might suspend me as well. All I have done is to put the threat issued by Yadav in the public arena, he said.
I have informed ministry of home affairs (MHA) about the threat issued by SP chief. I will visit Delhi to MHA officers for justice in the case, he said.
Talking to the media persons Thakur said, “I have no faith in the district or state police that they will do impartial probe in the case. DIG, Lucknow Range, RK Chaturvedi on Saturday told the media persons that Mulayam Singh Yadav had not threatened Thakur rather the duo had cordial talk on phone. This clearly shows the mindset of the police officers and I can not hope justice from the biased cops”, he said.
Terming the FIR lodged by a woman charging rape a return gift from the SP chief Thakur said,“Yadav threatened me on phone, when I made the conversation public he got a fake FIR registered against me and my wife”.
