Condemning the act of the Dera chief, the Lucknow Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (LGPC) leaders on Sunday demanded intervention of President A P J Kalam for instituting an inquiry into the allegations that illegal activities are being carried out in Deras.

Sikh leaders handed over a memorandum to the District Magistrate addressing President following all Sikh leaders' meet at Alambagh gurudwara and demanded speeding up CBI probe into the alleged murder and rape in Deras.

"Dera chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim has stirred the controversy to distract the CBI probing the allegations of rape and murder against him," LGPC president Rajendra Singh Bagga said.
