Lokayukta justice (retd) NK Mehrotra on Friday said he would visit Noida soon to start his probe into the farmhouse scam.
“Mohinder Singh, the then chairman of the Noida Authority, and members of the committee, who allotted the farmhouses, would be grilled,” Mehrotra added while talking to HT.
The vigilance department had issued the notification for the probe on Thursday.
“I have urged the present chairman Rakesh Bahadur to submit all the documents related to the allotment of the farmhouses. Which company and individual benefited from the allotment of land? The preliminary report indicates that fixation of the rate of the land, as well as allotment was wrong,” he added.
The Noida authority had urged the people to give applications for allotment of industrial land.
The officers had stated the decision to allot the land to private people was taken due to illegal encroachment on government land.
Though the owners were told to maintain the green belt, high-rise buildings were constructed in clear violation of rules. “The officers of the Noida authority relaxed the rules for illegal construction,” Mehrotra said.
