A 40-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on him in Naka area while a woman and her three-year-old daughter got critically injured when a roof of their house caved in at Chowk on Tuesday.
The first incident took place near Charbagh tempo stand when Harinand Jaiswal (40), a vegetable vendor, along with his wife Rani Jaiswal was waiting to board a tempo for Para at around 2pm. The police said the tree, which was already leaning on the roadside, got uprooted when Harinand was standing in its shed. He suffered injury on head while his wife sustained minor bruises. He later died during the treatment at Balrampur hospital.
In another incident, a 38-yearold Aarti Devi and her daughter Ansh (3) got critically injured when the roof of their house caved in at around 11.30am. The police said the woman was busy in her household work while the girl was playing in the room when the roof caved in suddenly. They were later taken out of the debris by the neighbours and rushed to KGMU’s trauma centre where their condition is stated to be critical. T he woman’s husband Pappan, a grocery shop owner, was not present in the house at the time of incident.
