Lucknow man held for misbehaving with Australian girl on running train

A Lucknow-based interior designer was on Tuesday arrested and sent to jail for misbehaving with a 18-year-old Australian girl on a running train near Agra. The accused was handed over to the police where a case was lodged in this connection.

The incident took place in 3240 Dn Patna Mathura Express near Tundla in Firozabad district. The girl, Indigo Davis (berth 60), was traveling from Mathura to Varanasi with John Don (berth 57) in B2 coach of the train.

"At around 2 am in the night, Shekhar Sharma, who was drunk, misbehaved with the woman, a resident of Sydney in Australia," said a police officer. He added that personnel of the Government Railway Police (GRP) soon reached the coach and captured the accused.

The couple, after getting a case registered at Lucknow, resumed their journey to Varanasi. The accused is a resident of Indira Nagar in Lucknow.
